The performance of the sound insulation is affected by how well the space to be insulated has been filled. Install PAROC eXtra slabs between beams and studs with an overhang of 20 mm to obtain a thorough filling without any cracks or gaps.
The overhang is important for the performance of the structure, for sound insulation as well as fire safety. Avoid using small pieces, (<200 mm), as this increases the risk of gaps occurring. Adapt the thickness of the standard slabs to the standard measurements of the timber or steel frames. Adapt the width to the necessary stud distance.
