Office building Sveavägen, Stockholm

Sveavägen 44 was, when it was originally built in 1942, the most efficient office building in Sweden. The building was unique, partly thanks to the flexible office compartments with moveable partitions and glass walls.

Sveavägen 44 is still one of the city's largest office blocks and will now become even bigger, through a thorough rebuild and expansion. After an extensive renovation has been completed, the property will contain 30,000 sqm of office space, 7,000 sqm of retail space, 4,200 square meters of hotel and 4,500 square meters of residential area.

Then, the property shall also be one of Europe's most energy efficient office buildings. The energy use at Sveavägen 44 will be reduced by over 70% to 35 kWh/m2. The environmental goals for the project are set high, and the project is run in accordance with the BREEAM environmental certification system.
