Kaukaan Voima's biomass power plant is the largest individual investment in the history of the city of Lappeenranta and Lappeenrannan Energia. The power plant produces steam and electricity for UPM's Kaukas mill complex as well as district heating and electricity for Lappeenrannan Energia.
