Helsinki Music Centre, Finland

The purpose of the Helsinki Music Centre is to offer an arena for perfect musical satisfaction.

The balance between sounds plays a key role. Noise between spaces is not permitted, and the acoustics in the concert halls meet the design plans.

PAROC® stone wool, which has the highest indoor climate classification, has been used for impact sound insulation, insulation of ventilation and, naturally, for absorption in walls and in suspended ceilings in practice rooms.

The control rooms of the Music Centre are ”filled” with PAROC® stone wool: in some parts of the control rooms the thickness of the wall is two metres. Even the tops of the rooms have a stone wool layer of one metre.

Ceiling and interior company Inlook Oy installed the ceilings and partition walls. The project was the biggest in the history of the company, comprising a total of 20,000 m2.

Products used:

For sound insulation: PAROC COS 5, PAROC eXtra and PAROC Marine Slab
For fire protection: PAROC FPS 17
