A) Painted ceiling insulation: fixed with adhesive, painted surface

PAROC CGL 20cy is a stone wool lamella which can be glued directly onto a cellar ceiling with adhesive. The visible side of lamella is covered with a silicate-based coating. The coating shortens the finishing time of the final surface.

The PAROC CGL 20cy eliminates the time-consuming ceiling installation phase. The lamella insulation layer creates a ceiling surface that can be finished with paint. The lamellas have bevelled edges that hide any minor unevenness in the surface and give the ceiling an aesthetically pleasing finish.

According to fire tests, a 120 mm concrete deck with a 60 mm thick PAROC CGL 20cy lamella insulation layer has fire classification of REI 240. 

Insulation lamellas also have great sound absorption values:

  • Sound absorption coefficient for the PAROC CGL 20cy with a thickness of 60 mm is αw=0.95 
  • Sound absorption coefficient for the PAROC CGL 20cy with a thickness of 200 mm is αw=1.00

  • Supporting floor structure: concrete slab or hollow-core slab
  • Thermal insulation: PAROC CGL 20cy glued to the ceiling according to the instructions provided by the adhesive manufacturer.
  • Finish the surface of the product by painting


B) Rendered ceiling insulation: fixed with adhesive

PAROC FAL1 is a stone wool lamella that can be glued directly onto a concrete ceiling with adhesive. The surface of the lamella can be coated, thereby decreasing the installation time and need for adhesive. With its excellent stone wool alkali resistance, finish the surface with rendering. Render the surface of insulation layer according to the instructions provided by the rendering system manufacturer. The finished surface is seamless and looks like a traditional rendered surface.

  • Thermal insulation: PAROC FAL 1 glued to the ceiling according to the instructions provided by the adhesive manufacturer.
  • The insulation lamellas have high tensile strength, meaning you can render the surface according to the instructions provided by the rendering system manufacturer.

C) Rendered ceiling insulation: installation during casting

Avoid unnecessary installation phases by installing the insulation lamellas at the bottom of the casting mould for the floor slab. When the concrete dries, the insulation layer adheres tightly with the concrete and creates a strong bond. You can then render or paint the insulation layer surface according to the instructions provided by the rendering system owner or paint manufacturer. The coated front surface of the lamella decreases the installation time of rendering. The finished surface is even and seamless.

  • Thermal insulation: PAROC FAL 1 adheres tightly to the concrete during the casting in the mould.
  • The insulation lamellas have high tensile strength, meaning you can render the surface according to the instructions provided by the rendering system manufacturer.
  • When the insulation is installed during casting, it creates an even ceiling surface that needs only paint as a finishing layer.
