A new system of fire ratings, the Euroclass system, has been introduced and the classification A2-s1,d0 has been achieved for Paroc Panels. Paroc Structural® stone wool used as core material in these panels meets the requirements according to class A1. The Euroclass A2-s1,d0 replaces in many countries "non-combustible" or "almost non-combustible".
The European classification system uses test methods for construction products based on harmonized European standards. The classification is made in accordance with the European Norm (EN). The fire characteristics of construction products are described using fire classes A1, A2, B, C, D, E and F. Class A1 comprises components that do not at all participate in the fire. Class A2 contains components with a very limited participation in the fire.
Smoke generation behaviour and burning droplets are represented by the sub-classifications s and d. Smoke generation is classified into s1, s2 or s3 and the forming of droplets into d0, d1 or d2. The mark s1 means that smoke generation is very small, whereas the mark d0 means that burning droplets or particles do not appear. |
