 Insulation of partitions

When building partitions the fire and sound requirements need to be considered. Paroc stone wool has an important role in improving the fire protection of the walls. But also the sound insulation properties are positively influenced when filling the space in the wall with Paroc stone wool. Due to common European standards the exact figures for each material combination can now be easily tested.

Paroc has been granted an ETA approval for partitions. Both fire and sound requirements are included in it and the main country-wise needs set for the approval are covered within the European Union. To get an ETA you need to test every construction related to it. For this practical reason, it was necessary to limit the amount of solutions tested. The approval is based on the fire tests made at ITB in Warsaw, Poland and on the sound tests at VTT in Espoo, Finland. The certificate is based on the common European regulations described in ETAG 003.

To be able to cover some additional constructions regarding sound we have also asked from VTT for a statement related to sound insulation. The figures described for each construction are based on calculations taking into account also the ability to produce the partitions on site. There are some safety margins here but it is possible to use the figures for designing as such.
