FAQ
Intermediate floor with good sound insulation

Based on load-bearing joists install for instance a floor chipboard or tongue-and-groove board, on top of which PAROC SSB 2t. On top of this install the floor finish, for instance floor chipboard or hardwood parquet.

If required sound insulation can be further upgraded by fixing a gypsum board to a flexible profile system on the ceiling bottom surface. The insulation between load-bearing joists is PAROC UNS 37 or PAROC eXtra (100 mm).

Normal intermediate floor with weak sound insulation
Install floor chipboard on top of load-bearing joists with a floor finish on top. The ceiling below is fixed directly onto a boarding substructure. For improving the sound insulation install PAROC UNS 37 between the joists. There are no sound insulation regulations for intermediate floors in single-family houses, but for comfort reasons the above described solution with good sound-impact insulation has gained in popularity.
