Storage and Handling

Storage

If insulation material is stored outdoors, it must be protected from rain. Stack the packages on a flat platform, which is not touching the ground. Cover the stacks with a waterproof tarpaulin or plastic if necessary. Should the insulation material get wet despite these measures, it can be dried and used as normal. Stone wool dries quickly and getting wet does not change its properties.

Handling

Handle the insulation packages in a manner that prevents damage. Care must be taken not to break the edges or corners of the packages or the insulation especially during unloading.

Cutting

PAROC stone wool is easy to cut and treat. Cutting can be done best with the aid of a wide blade knife particularly designed for this purpose. A wooden board etc. can also be used as a tool. Always allow a little extra width when applying flexible insulation (width = distance between supporting studs + compression margin).
