A building constructed using the 50 % concept only consumes one half of the heating energy of a standard building. It is typically a traditional building constructed by using standard solutions.
The low energy consumption is based on an increased level of thermal insulation, high grade windows, air-tight structural details and a ventilation heat recovery system.
Nothing spectacular, but functioning and proven in practice even in the cold climate zone of Espoo, Finland where we built our first 50 % concept house 1990.
