The European Union REACH Regulation
The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals) entered into force on the 1st of June 2007. As a consequence, companies using substances, preparations (chemicals) and articles need to take actions to secure their supply and use of these.
Companies manufacturing and importing substances on their own or as part of preparations, or even articles in certain cases, into the European Union and the European Economic Area, will have to register these substances at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), if not exempted from REACH. If a substance has not been pre-registered and registered accordingly by predefined deadlines, the production or import will not be allowed, thus also affecting the downstream use of these substances.
As a European Union Regulation, REACH is applied directly in all member states including European Economic Area -countries.
REACH registrations at Paroc
Paroc has pre-registered its substance (fibre) and this will need to be registered in accordance with REACH. As part of the REACH implementation strategy, Paroc has become a member of a MMVF (Man-made vitreous fibres) consortium which manages the registration process.
Paroc is working closely with the fibre consortium in preparing proper registration dossiers for its fibre. The level of involvement of Parocs' customers (downstream users) in the registration process for the purpose of supplying use related data is currently being assessed at the consortium level. For more information, please refer to the "Customer Use Support" page.
